Philippine Christmas is not complete without music and this season is celebrated by Filipinos through caroling. In the rural areas a group of carolers visit houses to sing Christmas songs.
When I was a kid, in our neighborhood, a group in my age were formed together as amateur carolers and visit houses every night. We were more than happy to receive coins or candies as reward for singing Christmas songs. We sang even out of tune, and were creative in using tin cans, plastic containers, and bamboos as our musical instruments. It isthe fun of doing it that mattters, out of tune or not!
